Maria Giovanna Bianchi

I am a Jungian psychoanalyst and psychotherapist trained at the Carl Gustav Jung Institute in Küsnacht, Switzerland. But this is only the story of the second half of my life…

I was born, raised and educated in Italy and had the opportunity to travel abroad since my early life. My journey brought me to Geneva, where I had a successful career at the United Nations as human rights officer. My work gave me great professional and personal satisfaction: it was an opportunity to work with and meet many interesting, and some truly exceptional, people from all over the world: from the humblest to the world’s leaders. Yet something was missing.

This is when I started training at the C.G. Jung Institute, Zürich, not to become a therapist but to overcome disorientation, and sometimes despair, in my own life. I was craving for a life lived with intention. Interestingly enough, the first paper I wrote at the Institute was on circumambulation, the act of walking in Circle around a sacred object. Little I knew at the time, but I was really circling at the periphery of my Self, my call and my real purpose in life, waiting to jump in.

After a journey marked by introspection and with the support of a “like-souled” community, I did jump in and my life is now rich, aligned and full of meaning, nurtured by the convergence of my main interests: analytical psychology, psychotherapy, dream interpretation, human rights, feminism and environmentalism.

It would be my privilege to help you find meaning, to jump at the centre of the Circle, wherever you are in your life now.
