The programme takes place in a traditional Dammuso, the iconic architecture of Pantelleria born from Arab civilization and centuries of local craftsmanship. These remarkable structures were designed to harmonize with the island’s unique conditions: strong winds, intense heat, scarce rainfall, and abundant volcanic stone.
Every architectural element serves a purpose: domed roofs channel precious rainwater into cisterns, while walls up to 1.4 meters thick provide natural insulation against summer heat and winter cold. Small windows and doors further protect against the elements. Many Dammusi feature an adjacent circular stone structure called a “Jardinu,” where fruit trees grow sheltered from the relentless island winds.
Each participant will have a private single-occupancy room with full board (breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner throughout the programme).
